A New Home for Pickleball Coaching: Head Coach at Auckland Pickleball Centre

It’s an exciting time for pickleball in Auckland, and I’m incredibly proud to share that I’m now the Head Coach at the new Auckland Pickleball Centre. In the last 12 months pickleball in Auckland has continued to grow rapidly, with more players discovering just how fun, social, and addictive the sport can be. Having a dedicated facility for the game is a huge step forward for the local pickleball community.

One of the things I’m most excited about is finally having a permanent home for coaching at a world-class venue. The Auckland Pickleball Centre is a fantastic facility featuring professional pickleball courts designed specifically for the sport, giving players the chance to train and play in an environment built for performance, comfort, and enjoyment.

A Purpose-Built Pickleball Facility

Unlike temporary setups in gyms or multi-purpose courts, purpose-built pickleball courts make a huge difference to the playing experience. The surfaces, lighting, spacing, and overall layout are designed specifically for pickleball, allowing players to enjoy the game the way it’s meant to be played.

Having access to a professional venue means we can now offer structured coaching sessions, clinics, and group lessons in a consistent environment. Players can develop their skills week after week without having to move between different venues.

For me as a coach, it’s incredibly rewarding to be able to run programs in a facility that truly reflects the growth and professionalism of the sport.

Coaching for All Levels

At the Auckland Pickleball Centre, we’ll be offering coaching lessons for players of all levels—from complete beginners picking up a paddle for the first time to experienced players looking to refine their strategy and technique.

Coaching sessions will include:

• Beginner introductions to the game

• Skill development drills

• Doubles strategy and guided match play

• Group coaching sessions

• Private one-on-one lessons

Group sessions are a great way for players to meet others of a similar level, improve their skills, and become part of the growing pickleball community in Auckland.

A Growing Pickleball Community

Pickleball is more than just a sport—it’s a community. One of the most rewarding parts of coaching is seeing players improve, gain confidence, and build friendships on the court.

With the opening of the Auckland Pickleball Centre, we now have a dedicated hub where players can train, compete, and connect with others who share the same passion for the game.

I’m incredibly happy to call this facility my permanent coaching home, and I look forward to welcoming both new and experienced players to the courts.
